Coach Ken Kortemeyer is also senior athletic administrator at USF. He leads both the men’s and women’s golf teams into competition in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and the NAIA.
University of Sioux Falls won the fall 2009-10 Dana Invitational played at River Wilds Golf Course in Blair, Nebraska. USF was led by tournament medalist Kali Gottsleben who posted a 79 at the one-round event.
As host school, the University of Sioux Falls Cougars received a bid to the 2009 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship, they but did not make the 54-hole cut to the low 18 teams. Cold and windy conditions at the 6,000-yard Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course in Rapid City, SD challenged the players. Wind was strongest in rounds two and four, and the field scoring average for round two jumped four strokes higher than round one.
The USF women placed second or third in all of the 2008-09 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) qualifiers.
The men play their GPAC conference championship in the spring, and the women play in the fall. |
